Ghost
History
Ghost was first mentioned in a blog post by founder John O’Nolan. The first public version of Ghost was released in April of 2013 to the people who backed the project in kickstarter. The first extended release was on GitHub in 2014
Requirements
MacOs, Windows or Linux. Ubuntu server with at least 1 GB of memory is recommended.
Hosted\Self-Hosted
Ghost is open-source software. It can be self-hosted or Ghost(pro) for those who don’t want to self-host.
Cost
Free for self hosted option. Ghost(pro) starts at $9.00 per month for up to 500 members. And the price goes up from there. The highest price level listed is $2415.00 for up to 385,000 members.

According to Built With there are 136,917 websites using Ghost both live and historical. There are currently 50,969 live sites, and an additional 59,714 website redirects.
